New Market Study Proves High Demand for Secure, Private Alternative to Google, Facebook Social Sign-In and Passwords

The results from a series of blind market surveys were announced today by SAFE. The data shows what everyone on the internet already knew: people who use passwords and social sign-in want a new choice. In one recent survey, 73% of people who use 10 passwords or more, and 50% of people who sign in with Facebook, want to try a secure, private product called The SAFE Button. These are the high frequency, high touch users that all websites want choosing their sites!

For example, people have a lot of passwords to remember: over 67% of people surveyed say they have 10 passwords or more. But, people do not trust passwords at all. In fact, over 74% of people surveyed are not confident that using passwords will protect their privacy and personal data.

The data also shows that users do not trust Facebook, despite the high usage rate of ‘Sign-In with Facebook’ and other similar products. Users are passively using the easiest tool out of weariness and the frustration that that’s all there is. Now there is something better, easier, safer: The SAFE Button. In fact, 70% of people surveyed do not trust Facebook with their privacy or personal data, yet 67% of the people who don’t trust Facebook also use ‘Sign In with Facebook’ regularly.
